Fireworks stay
a tradition.
The popular initiative «For a restriction of fireworks» wants to ban noisy fireworks for private individuals – even on 1 August and New Year's Eve. We say no. And we show that it works with respect, too.

Title«For a restriction of fireworks»
DemandsA ban on the sale and use of noise-producing fireworks
ExceptionsOnly with cantonal approval for events of supra-regional importance – not for private individuals
RecommendationFederal Council and Parliament: No
That's why
No.
5 reasons why a ban is the wrong way.
01
A living tradition
For many families, fireworks belong to 1 August and New Year's Eve – for generations. What connects us should remain.
02
Just a few days a year
Fireworks are mainly lit on two holidays. That doesn't justify a general ban.
03
Already regulated today
Use is already strictly regulated. Cantons and municipalities can restrict fireworks further – for example during droughts.
04
Respect, not bans
We give advice when you buy, inform you about safety and take back used fireworks at our disposal station.
05
Local business
Family businesses like ours – in Rothrist since 2009 – would be directly affected.
